We plan to repeat last year’s ‘Walking with Men’ memorial walk at Markham Vale on Ash Wednesday 5th March 2025. We see the names of the miners who died inscribed on ‘walking’ figures up and down the hill which many followed down to the pit and back. Last year people were moved by the experience.

This year it is possible to go by bus from Beetwell St at 9.53, the bus tours round much of Chesterfield and Staveley to arrive just in time for the walk. Everyone welcome. Rendezvous at 11am at the Environment Centre.
